The work of crazed* Japanese director Takashi Miike certainly isn’t for everyone, but no one can accuse the man of being a one-trick pony. Despite the fact he’s notorious for creating the kind of extreme, blood-soaked yarns that get gorehounds like me salivating, he also makes time for strangely moving dramas (The Bird People In China) and completely bonkers family films (Zebraman). To the latter camp soon comes Yatterman, a live-action remake of a 1970′s anime series very few of us Yanks have actually ever seen.
