New Spider-Man 3 Poster

March 2nd, 2007 by alan s.

Sony has released a new piece of art for the upcoming Spider-Man 3, and things keep looking better and better. I am still a fan of the the mirrored costume images from the earlier posters, but this shot of the symbiote creeping up Spidey’s arm is no slouch either.

And that’s not even all the Spider-Man 3 news today. Word is NBC is going to air a one minute clip from the movie during Heroes on Monday (and you were going to be watching Heroes anyway, right? Right.), with an extended six-minute version available on NBC.com after the show. Couple that with the new trailer that will be arriving in theaters alongside 300 (and you were going to go watch 300 anyway, right? Right.) and you have one hell of an ad campaign.

  • Have you noticed how the font for Spiderman has been borrowed for the latest Playstation 3 ads? I predict a very strong tie-in when the movie finally arrives. It won’t sell any more Playstations, though.

  • I haven’t seen any PS3 ads since those horrifying ones with the crying babydoll (I hope someone got fired for approving those), but I did notice the actual font on the system itself is the Spider-Man one. Seemed like pretty lazy design at the time, but I never thought about them doing a tie-in with the film, which actually makes a lot of sense. You’re probably right on both counts though, won’t be selling too many more $600 doorstops right now either way. The poor PS3 desperately needs games, not clever cross-promotions.
